Fast Relief When It Matters

Common Dental Emergencies and Immediate Care Steps

Dental emergencies can be stressful, but knowing what to do in the moment can help reduce pain and prevent further damage before you reach a dentist.
Knocked-out tooth
Hold the tooth by the crown, rinse gently if needed, and try placing it back in the socket. If that is not possible, keep it in milk or saliva and seek care immediately.
Rinse with warm salt water and gently clean around the tooth. Use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek for relief.
Rinse your mouth, save any fragments, and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
Avoid chewing on that side. If needed, temporarily place the crown back using dental wax or temporary cement.
Apply clean gauze with gentle pressure and use a cold compress to reduce swelling.
Rinse with warm salt water and schedule dental care as soon as possible. Do not attempt to drain it yourself.

When pain strikes, answers follow

Why Patients Choose Us for Emergency Dental Care

A tooth emergency does not care about your calendar. When pain strikes or damage happens, what matters is having a team you can trust to handle it calmly and competently. We prioritize getting you out of crisis mode and back to living your life. No judgment, no panic, just practical help delivered quickly.
We get you in fast and on the phone sooner
Calling us with an emergency means you speak with our team right away, not a machine. We listen to what is going on, walk you through what you can do immediately to reduce pain, and schedule you before you hang up. The faster you reach us, the faster we get you relief.
When something in your mouth hurts, it colors your entire day. Work feels harder. Food tastes worse. Sleep does not come easily. Prompt treatment means we identify the cause and fix it before it wears you down further. You get back to feeling like yourself much sooner.
Some dental problems start small but grow fast, especially if bacteria spreads. Coming in immediately gives us the chance to stop the infection early and keep it from becoming a bigger health issue that affects more than just your teeth.
Seeing us quickly does not mean we rush a diagnosis or force you into one treatment path. In fact, the opposite: when you come in fast, we have more information, more time to discuss your preferences, and more choices available. Panic narrows options. Speed expands them.
If a tooth is knocked out or severely cracked, the minutes and hours that follow matter enormously. Immediate care significantly improves your chances of keeping the tooth rather than losing it to damage. Waiting changes the outcome. Acting now keeps your options open.
An emergency appointment is not about prolonging treatment. It is about getting the crisis handled so you can move forward. Once the urgent problem is fixed, you eat, sleep, focus, and live normally again without your mouth constantly demanding attention.

We Turn Emergencies Into Resolved Situations and Get You Back to Your Day.

Patient FAQs

Emergency Dentistry FAQs

Dental emergencies can feel stressful, and you may not know what needs urgent care right away. We are here to help with clear, judgment-free guidance, same-day appointments when possible, and answers for anything not covered below.

What counts as a dental emergency?

A dental emergency is any problem causing pain or bleeding, and that can include a severe toothache, a broken tooth, a knocked-out tooth, or an injury to the gums or mouth. If you think it is urgent, call us or book online so we can guide you.
Rinse your mouth with warm saltwater, use gauze if there is bleeding, and bring any tooth fragments with you in milk or saliva. If the sharp edge is cutting your tongue or cheek, temporary filling or bonding material can help until you get here.
Pick up the tooth by the crown, not the root, and rinse it gently if needed. Try placing it back in the socket without forcing it, or keep it moist in milk or a tooth preservation product, then contact us right away.
Time matters a lot with a knocked-out tooth. It has the best chance of being saved if it is returned to the socket within about an hour, and some emergencies need care within 1 to 2 hours. Call us as soon as possible.
Tooth pain is not normal, especially if it is severe, lasts for days, or comes with swelling or signs of infection. You can use a cold compress and an anti-inflammatory pain reliever for short-term comfort, then reach out so we can check the cause.
Emergency rooms can help with pain or infection, but they usually do not perform dental procedures like extractions. If you need dental treatment, we can handle the problem directly in our office and talk through the next steps with you.
We start by listening to what happened and checking the area carefully, then Dr. Feldman reviews your symptoms and treatment options. If possible, we provide same-day care to relieve pain, stop bleeding, or stabilize the tooth so you can get back to your routine.
Sometimes, yes. If a broken or knocked-out tooth is treated quickly, we may be able to preserve it or reattach fragments depending on their condition. If the tooth cannot be saved, we will discuss options like bonding, a crown, or extraction.
The cost can vary because emergency visits are different from routine appointments and the treatment needed is not always the same. We understand that urgent care is stressful, so we work with you on payment options available in our office before moving ahead.
Good daily care goes a long way, brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing once a day, and keeping your cleanings and checkups. Mouthguards help during contact sports or teeth grinding, and fluoride treatments or fluoridated water can also support your teeth.
