Built in the Jaw

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a three-part tooth replacement made to act like a natural tooth root and crown. A small titanium implant is placed into your jaw bone, where it heals and bonds with the bone. An abutment then connects that implant to the restoration, which is often a crown. We plan implant surgery with a fully guided, restoratively driven approach, using the final tooth position to guide placement.

Restore your smile

Benefits of Dental Implants

Missing teeth can change how you move through the day, from the meals you choose to the way you show up in photos and conversations. Dental implants give you a stable, natural-looking replacement that is built to blend in and support long-term oral health. They also fit a judgment-free and pressure-free experience, so you can Start Your Journey with clarity.
Eat with steady confidence
Enjoy your favorite meals without worrying that a replacement tooth will shift or feel unreliable. Implants stay secure, so you can bite into crisp apples, chewy bread, or a steak dinner with less hesitation and more ease at the table.
When your teeth stay in place, your words come out more clearly and naturally. That means easier conversations at work, smoother phone calls, and less worry about a slipped restoration changing the way you sound.
Your new tooth is designed to look like part of your smile, not something that stands out. You can laugh, pose for photos, and meet people face to face without feeling like anyone is noticing a gap or a removable piece.
Implants do not need special routines or extra steps beyond brushing, flossing, and regular checkups. That makes your daily care feel familiar and easy, so you can keep your routine without adding another dental hassle.
With good home care and six-month visits, implants can last 30+ years and may last a lifetime. That gives you peace of mind that your new smile is built for the long run, not just a quick patch.
When a tooth is missing, the jaw can lose stimulation over time. Implants help preserve the structure that supports your face, so your smile keeps its natural foundation while neighboring teeth stay better aligned.

Start Your Journey toward a stronger smile that feels like your own.

What to expect

The dental implant procedure and journey

Knowing what comes next can make your visit feel far more manageable. We keep the experience judgment-free and pressure-free, so you can feel calm, informed, and ready for each visit. You are not just a number, and every part is planned around your comfort.
1

Planning Your Implant

Your first visit centers on approval, planning, and a clear look at your needs. We create a treatment plan and implant guide for your procedure, so you know what is ahead before anything begins. If you arrive feeling nervous, that is normal, and we keep the atmosphere calm and supportive.
2

Place and Heal

The implant is placed with local anesthetic, so the area is numbed and the visit stays comfortable. Afterward, you head home and get back to your routine right away. The implant site usually heals in about two weeks, while the bone continues healing for about 8 to 12 weeks as it locks the implant in place.
3

Your New Tooth

During follow-up visits, we start building your restoration and take a digital impression with our intraoral scanner. At the final visit, your restoration is attached to the implant and the gap left by missing teeth is filled. You walk away with a stable new tooth that feels natural in daily life.

Patient FAQs

Dental Implants FAQs

Dental implants can bring up a lot of practical questions, and we think that is a good thing. If you are wondering about healing, comfort, candidacy, or how to care for your new tooth, we are here with clear answers and a judgment-free conversation.

What is a dental implant made of?

A dental implant has three parts: a titanium implant, an abutment that connects everything, and a restoration such as a crown. The implant acts like an artificial tooth root, and we plan the full case so your replacement looks natural and fits well.
We use a fully guided approach for implant surgery. That means we plan the case with a cone beam CT scan and an intraoral scan, then use a surgical guide for precise placement. This restoratively driven process helps us design the final crown from the start.
If you are missing one or more teeth and your mouth is healthy with strong jaw bone, you may be a candidate. If you do not have enough bone in the area, you may still qualify after bone grafting or another preparatory step.
Most patients are surprised by how manageable it feels. We place implants with local anesthesia, so the area is numb during treatment. You may have some swelling or soreness afterward, but that usually settles down in a few days.
The timeline depends on your case, but healing comes in stages. The implant site often heals in about two weeks, while bone fusion, called osseointegration, usually takes about 8 to 12 weeks. We check your progress during follow-up visits.
With good oral hygiene, a healthy lifestyle, and regular six-month visits, dental implants can last for many years and may last a lifetime. The implant itself is built to be durable, although the crown attached to it may wear over time.
A missing tooth leaves a space that can affect how you chew and smile. Dental implants help replace that space with a fixed option that does not move like a partial denture. We can also talk through other tooth replacement choices if you want options.
You can usually return to your routine quickly, but soft foods are a smart choice for about a week. We will also schedule follow-ups so we can check healing, review your progress, and begin building your restoration at the right time.
Yes. For a straightforward single implant, local anesthesia is often enough and you stay awake but comfortable. For more complex cases, sedation dentistry or general anesthesia may be considered. We talk with you about what fits your needs.
We are a privately owned, dentist-led practice in Gainesville, FL with a fully guided implant approach and a strong focus on restorative planning. Dr. Feldman is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and has completed hundreds of hours of implant training.

Expertise and Compassion

Meet Dr. Greg Feldman, DMD

Dr. Greg Feldman earned both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees from the University of Florida, making him a proud Double Gator. With over 1,800 hours of continuing education, he holds credentials achieved by only a small percentage of dentists nationwide, including his Fellowship and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD and MAGD) and his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI).

His passion for dentistry started in the dental chair. Born with a congenitally missing adult tooth, he experienced firsthand the life-changing impact of quality dental care. That personal connection drives his commitment to making every patient feel heard, comfortable, and confident in their treatment.

At Gainesville Dentistry Co., we built our practice around doing dentistry differently. You won’t find a corporate feel here. Instead, you’ll find a doctor who takes the time to listen, explain your options honestly, and deliver care with precision and warmth. From dental implants and full mouth rehabilitation to clear aligners, Botox, and sleep apnea treatment, Dr. Feldman brings advanced training and genuine compassion to every visit.

First impressions are very important. When I entered the Gainesville Dentistry Co. office, I was immediately impressed by its cleanliness and a very pleasant fresh scent. The receptionist and Dr. Feldman’s assistant Narlyn were very welcoming and friendly. I was very impressed by the comfortable modern chair and the state-of-the-art equipment. The Xray charts were clearly positioned in front of you while the doctor explained and pointed out the results and necessary treatment. When I met Dr. Feldman, I recognized him as the dentist whose patient I was, briefly, years ago in Ocala before he left my area. I was looking for him for a long time before I found him in Gainesville. I came to Dr. Feldman for a second opinion. He was extremely generous with his time and explained very thoroughly what was accurate and what not so much about the previous dentist’s plan. I felt that Dr. Feldman is very knowledgeable and honest, and I decided to continue on with him. It is well worth my long drive to Gainesville knowing that I am getting the most skilled and professional treatment possible.

I did the $125 new patient special along with a teeth cleaning. I was so impressed. The vibe of the office is so cozy chic. The front desk staff especially Candice is so helpful over the phone and in person. Heather did all of my X-rays and cleaning and she was wonderful! I liked that they didn’t constantly try to push costly additions. They were very honest and straightforward, no gimmicks. Will definitely be back.
