Why Botox?

Botox is a drug derived from a neurotoxin produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. It is a purified protein and very safe for patients. Botox has been used for over 25 years to treat a myriad of areas and conditions. Botulinum toxin can relax the muscles on areas of the face and neck, which cause wrinkles associated with facial expressions or facial pain. Treatment with Botox can cause your facial expression lines or wrinkles to be less noticeable or essentially disappear. Dr. Feldman is highly trained in providing Botox treatment. At Gainesville Dentistry Co., we can address some of the following areas: Forehead lines (frontalis), frown lines (glabellar complex), crow's feet (orbicularis oculi), gummy smiles (LLSAN), bunny lines (nasalis), chin dimpling/shortening (mentalis), marionette lines (DAOs), smoker's lines (orbicularis oris), necklace lines/platysmal bands, clenching/grinding/headaches (masseters and/or temporalis). As you can see, we can treat a lot of areas of concern with Botox. We address both therapeutic and cosmetic needs at our practice.

Why a dentist's office?

A dental office is probably not the first place you think of as a place for Botox. You may think of a medical spa first, but in actuality, a dentist is the perfect profession for providing high-quality Botox for patients. Dentists are uniquely qualified to assess how the face and lips work in tandem with the teeth to provide optimal beauty. Dentists also have more knowledge of facial anatomy and facial injections than any other profession. When it comes to therapeutics, dentists can properly assess the TMJ and treat, not only the muscles of mastication, but also the need for occlusal guards and other treatment for any damage caused to your teeth. Dr. Feldman is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and highly trained in Botox and dermal filler treatments.

Why now?

Whether there are lines and wrinkles that bother you or you are wanting to prevent lines from forming, it is never too late or too early to be considering Botox treatment for yourself. Preventive Botox in your 20s and 30s is becoming increasingly more popular. Once lines and wrinkles become set into your skin, they can become much harder to get rid of entirely. Botox can eliminate dynamic lines that show up when we make facial expressions. Static lines that are present at rest are much more difficult to address. These lines can lessen or even go away over time, but they require regular Botox treatments every 2-3 months. As the muscles become less overactive, the lines will become more faint.

Why not?

At Gainesville Dentistry Co., we offer a complementary consultation for Botox. Therefore, there is ZERO risk in learning more about the procedure and having Dr. Feldman assess your needs based on your individual motivations and goals. We believe you will find the office to be a comfortable and inviting place to receive your cosmetic work. We look forward to meeting you!
